So it has been a while, ok ok, more that six months, what is your point? It is however, January 2, a perfect time for setting down resolutions in writing so that you can look later and feel guilty. What a spectatular attitude. So in the intrest of providing plenty of fodder for future self-loathing here are the agenda items for 2005.
The big one, and the one fraught with the most difficulty not to mention expense is (drum-roll please) Purchase my first house. Eek, if I were to enumerate all the road blocks (both real and imagined) to that I would have to have much longer than I do now.
I have also decided to spread the trama out in little drips and drabs all through the year for maximum stress and hopefully maximum chance of affecting real change. I am operating off the assumation that a small, measurable goal has a better chance of being realized. So here follows the three items for January: Lose five pounds (not very original I know but hey it still needs to be done!) Keep all beds made and have them made before leaving the house each day. This will be easier to accomplish if i can motivate the kids to do their own. It is, in my opinion, amazing how much a made bed can cover for other sins of clean ommission. Follow and do each item on the January checklist. I will give myself three items to delete. I will subsitute something for the ones that don't apply to my life.
I suppose I should also have a professional goal or two as well, so hmmm. My weakest point is probably billing. Not a good weakness I know. So for January my goal is to keep accurate records and bill within two days of making a call. Its is all about timeliness.
So if goals are all about the measurement, these are infinitely measureable. But to accomplish the first of these I need to have some processing and paperwork in place. So if that is accomplished by the end of January that would be acceptable - so January=research month. Hopefully weighloss it it's own reward so we will try that. The keeping the beds made thing...well for every workweed that is done I will award myself an extra hour - starting at 9 to read or do what ever I want. As for the checklist thing, for every completed week, maybe I will give myself and hour for that as well. Not the most original idea I know. Maybe I will be more creative with February, but I doubt it.
I pray that Bryan and the kids and my Dad will be safe and heathly this year and that my one hearts wish can be worked to reality. So that is it and Happy New Year.
